“This bee is dead from weed killer spread on what we see as weeds, but what nature sees as food. In some areas, weeds, flowers and fruit trees are bees only source of food until middle of June. There are FAR more weeds than flowers or fruit trees, so it's their only food source. No bees, no food crops for us and we all starve.”

Ways to avoid glyphosate weed killer that we are currently using are:- Stripping turf- mineral mulches - acetic acid- flame throwers - hand weeding- retaining ‘weeds’ amoungst plantings- plug planting ‘weedy’ verges to increase biodiversity and public acceptance of weeds Yes weed killers are cheap and easy but sometimes the other costs ( crop fertilisation, water pollution, cancer and Parkinson’s) are just too high to pay.

As a beekeeper in coastal North Carolina, this time of year (actually March-June, not May) is always the worst for my bees! Wildflowers are blooming (including clover and dandelion) and the turf maintenance industry is in full swing, practically vacuuming lawns and spraying to kill any weeds (native plants) that interrupt the "look" of perfectly polished suburbia. The companies around us use an herbicide/insecticide blend that includes urea and liquid iron (fertilizer), Celsius (post-emergent weed control), and, to control "lawn-damaging insects," bifenthrin-- highly toxic to bees.

Bees 🐝 are essential for our survival. They don’t only give us honey. They pollinate our food crops which is vital for plants to produce a good crop. Many plants don’t produce fruit unless they get pollinated by bees. That’s how important bees 🐝 are. How can we protect bees 🐝? Here are some ways?🐝 don’t use harmful pesticides in our gardens and farms🐝 learn about integrated pest management🐝 discourage farmers and gardeners around us from using harmful pesticides🐝 buy produce and other food that was produced without pesticides (even if it is not certified organic, it’s ok)🐝 teach others about the importance of beesWhat else can you add? 🐝 #protectbees #saynotopesticides #integratedpestmanagement

I’ll make it simple…Grass Fed Beef comes from cattle that were started on a grass diet that have received supplemental grain fed or are finished on a fully grain based diet. YOU DON’T WANT THIS.you want Grass Fed AND Grass Finished Beef. This means that the cattle ate nothing but grass and forage their entire lives. YOU WANT THIS.When it comes to any food we eat. We want the food as fresh as possible and to its original origin. Farmed raised fish is going to be raised in a farm. An environment that fish weren’t biologically created to live in. YOU DON’T WANT THIS. Wild caught fish comes from the environment that fish were biologically created in. This is going to be our freshest fish. WE WANT THIS.#eatinghealthyiseasy #readyourfoodlabels
